Weekly Reads 19

SIDENOTE: There was an update to the theme I was using on the blog, and it apparently was a complete revamp because it’s now 100% different. I wasn’t planning on updating the look, but I guess there’s no time like the present. Expect tweaks to the site over the next few days. Apologies in advance for any issues/quirks for those of you who actually come to the site and don’t use a blog reader like Feedly.

I’m back from Spain/France/Italy and it was a such a great trip. It was hard to come home. I’m relaxed. I’m refreshed. I’ve been told I got some sun. I’m still craving all that amazing food. If you’ve been following along on Instagram, you know what I’m talking about. I’m hoping to get sort of summary up at some point. We went to some pretty great places. I need to share. In the meantime, here are some things I’ve been reading.

 

I read I’m Judging You: The Do Better Manual, Lab Girl, and You’ll Grow Out of It while on vacation. It’s nice to be back in the groove and actually have the time to read again.

It’s grapefruit paloma season. I also want an arugula gimlet, please.

Since a certain food cart closed downtown, I haven’t been able to find a decent oyakodon since. Maybe it’s time to try it myself.

This Korean fried chicken sounds like so much work, but man I want some.

GoodWell is providing companies a way to measure employee satisfaction in a good workplace audit. I like it.

The Timbers stadium is getting a beautiful remodel. Can it be done now?

My pantry is currently housing a bunch of little plantlings that I’m attempting to salvage from a mean case of root rot.

An illustrated cookbook, complete with flow-chart? I’m in.

Now that tax and vacation season is over, I’m getting back into the groove of working out. I’ve started up some 12 Minute Athlete ones again.

New Mexico is on the list of places to travel at some point.

A collaboration with Bridge & Burn [one of my favorite clothing companites] and the Timbers. That jacket though.

Ways to stop overthinking things? Bookmarked for future reference. I am the queen of overthinking.

Seriouseats was reading my mind. 14 tapas recipes. Tuna stuffed peppers? Anchovy, red pepper, manchego? Grilled sardines? Yes, yes, yes.
